Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Your adventure begins the moment you touch down at Entebbe International Airport (EBB). A professional and knowledgeable guide from Heuvel Explorer Safaris will warmly welcome you. After a brief overview of your safari, you'll set off on a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned as the world's premier location for chimpanzee trekking. The journey, lasting approximately 5-6 hours, is a visual feast of Uganda's diverse landscape—from bustling towns to tranquil farmlands and verdant tea estates. Upon arrival at your chosen lodge, you'll have time to settle in and relax before a detailed briefing about tomorrow's chimpanzee trek and a delicious, freshly prepared dinner.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk
Fuel up with an early breakfast before heading to the Kibale National Park headquarters. After a briefing, you'll be assigned a ranger guide and trek through the forest to locate a chimpanzee community. The trek can range from one to four hours, and the thrill of finally finding them is indescribable. You will spend one magical hour observing their complex social behaviors, from their playful interactions to their impressive feeding rituals. Afterward, you'll return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you can opt for a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, a community-run project famous for its diverse birdlife and other primates like red-tailed monkeys and L'Hoest's monkeys.
Day 3: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After a hearty breakfast, your journey continues south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This full-day drive (7-8 hours) is a safari in itself. You will pass through the spectacular landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with chances to spot elephants, Uganda kobs, and other wildlife. A special stop at the Kikorongo Equator point will provide a unique photo opportunity. As you approach Bwindi, the landscape transforms into a stunning panorama of terraced hills and misty, ancient forest. Day 4: The Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience
The day you've been waiting for has arrived! After an early breakfast, you'll receive a briefing from the park rangers. Then, you will be led into the dense forest to begin your trek. The hike can be physically demanding, but the moment you encounter a mountain gorilla family is absolutely worth every step. For one precious hour, you will sit with these gentle giants, observing them feed, groom, and play. This is a truly humbling and life-changing experience. Day 5: Bwindi Exploration & Cultural Immersion

Day 6: Departure to Kampala / Entebbe
