Day 1: Journey to the 'Zebra Kingdom' of Lake Mburo

  • Morning: Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala. We'll head west on a scenic drive, making a captivating stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe. This is your chance for a classic photo with one foot in each hemisphere! You'll also find local craft shops offering unique souvenirs.
  • Afternoon: The journey continues to Lake Mburo National Park, a hidden gem often referred to as the "Whispers of the Wild." After checking into your comfortable lodge, you’ll embark on a thrilling afternoon game drive. Lake Mburo is a unique savannah landscape with rolling hills and acacia woodlands. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of graceful zebra, the park’s most famous resident, as well as eland, impala, topi, and the majestic Rothschild's giraffe, recently reintroduced to the park.
  • Evening: Settle in for the night at your charming lodge, either Rwakobo Rock Lodge, perched on granite rocks with breathtaking views, or Arcadia Cottages, offering a tranquil escape. Enjoy a delicious dinner and reflect on your first day of safari magic.

Day 2: Serene Waters and Untamed Bush Walks

  • Morning: Rise with the sun for a tranquil morning boat cruise on the pristine waters of Lake Mburo. This is a unique perspective to witness the park’s aquatic and semi-aquatic life. The lake is teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and a spectacular array of birdlife, including the African fish eagle and the rare shoebill stork.
  • Afternoon: After the boat cruise, you have a special opportunity for an optional guided walking safari. Unlike other parks, walking is permitted here, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the bush. With a professional ranger, you'll track wildlife on foot, a truly exhilarating and intimate way to encounter giraffes, zebras, and antelopes up close, without the barrier of a vehicle.
  • Evening: Return to Rwakobo Rock Lodge for another night of comfort and the serene sounds of the African bush. Relax by the campfire and enjoy a hearty meal under a canopy of stars.

Day 3: The Tea Plantations & the 'Murchison of the South'

  • Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast in Lake Mburo before we embark on a scenic drive towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes us through the lush, green landscapes of Bushenyi, famous for its picturesque tea plantations that stretch as far as the eye can see, providing a stunning backdrop for your drive.
  • Afternoon: Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its incredible biodiversity, you will check into your lodge. In the late afternoon, we will head out for an exhilarating game drive in the renowned Kasenyi Plains. This area is a classic savannah dotted with candelabra trees and is the park's primary lion-tracking hub. Witness magnificent herds of elephants, towering Uganda kobs, and, if you're lucky, a pride of lions resting in the afternoon sun.
  • Evening: Your home for the next two nights will be either Enganzi Lodge, offering panoramic views of the park, or Twin Lakes Safari Lodge, nestled between two beautiful crater lakes. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner with the backdrop of the African wilderness.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth's Crown Jewels

  • Morning: The day begins with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi area, when the animals are most active. This is the best time to spot lions on the hunt and see other predators like leopards and hyenas. You will also see vast herds of elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species. The sheer density of wildlife in this area is breathtaking.
  • Afternoon: After lunch, prepare for the highlight of your safari: a relaxing and unforgettable boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is a magnet for wildlife. Drifting slowly along the channel, you’ll witness one of the world's highest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles. The banks are also a gathering place for elephants, buffalo, and countless water birds, making it a birdwatcher's paradise.
  • Evening: Return to Enganzi Lodge for a delicious dinner and an evening of relaxation, sharing stories of the incredible sights you've seen.

Day 5: Fort Portal & the 'Living Library' of Semuliki

  • Morning: After a final game drive as you exit Queen Elizabeth, we'll head north towards Semuliki National Park. The journey takes you through the stunning town of Fort Portal, known for its beautiful scenery and proximity to the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, often called the "Mountains of the Moon." The drive offers spectacular photo opportunities of the snow-capped peaks.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge and prepare for a unique afternoon experience. You will visit the Sempaya Hot Springs, one of the park’s most famous features. Walk on a boardwalk through a verdant forest to witness the "male" and "female" springs, a marvel of geothermal activity where water can reach temperatures of over 100°C. You can even boil an egg in the spring's boiling water!
  • Evening: Settle into your accommodation at either Ntoroko Game Lodge or the unique Semuliki Safari Lodge (Midrange Option). Enjoy a well-deserved dinner and prepare for a day of exploration in this truly wild and remote park.

Day 6: Primate Encounters & Savannah Surprises

  • Morning: Semuliki is a 'living library' of tropical rainforest and savannah. Your day begins with a guided morning forest walk in the park's dense jungle. This is a rare opportunity to see some of Uganda’s most unique bird species, including the elusive Nkulengu Rail and the Yellow-throated Nicator. You'll also have a chance to spot forest primates like the Red-tailed monkey, Black and White Colobus, and Chimpanzees.
  • Afternoon: After your forest adventure, the park's landscape shifts dramatically into open savannah. Embark on an exciting afternoon game drive in this less-visited section of Semuliki. While the animals here can be shy, the rewards are great. You may spot buffalo, waterbucks, and a variety of antelopes, offering a different safari experience from the other parks.
  • Evening: Return to Ntoroko Game Lodge for your final night in the heart of the wild. Enjoy a farewell dinner and recount the diverse experiences of your journey from savannah to forest.

Day 7: The Journey Home

  • Morning: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final moment to soak in the incredible surroundings of Semuliki. Your driver will then begin the scenic drive back to Kampala, with stops for photos and lunch along the way.
  • Afternoon: We'll ensure a comfortable and timely drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your onward flight.

This itinerary is more than just a safari; it's a journey through the soul of Uganda. From the serene savannahs of Lake Mburo to the teeming waters of Queen Elizabeth and the unique ecosystems of Semuliki, you will leave with a profound appreciation for the country's breathtaking natural beauty and incredible biodiversity.
